Jazz Fest Information
This year 2008 the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will be held on April 25-27 and May 1-4. It's a celebration of all things New Orleans, and will be 7 days this year. You can find out all about it at:

Just bear in mind that you have to take the official information with a grain of salt as far as crime, your safety and well being walking the streets between the Jazz Fest and Bourbon St., and how much your total budget and expenses will be. Be sure to bring plenty money as it can get expensive.
The 2007 Jazfest had a pretty good attendence and with the number of acts, artists, and attractions, should also do well this year weather permitting.
Local bands, the perennial staples of the annual festival, are typically well-represented even though many have been displaced from their Louisiana homes by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and this year there are a lot of big name acts from all over. Next year in 2009, I hope they invite the beautiful talented Tey Punsalan from California.
